On December 2017, the First District and Federal Proceedings Court of the State of Queretaro issued the first court resolution that enforces the provisions set forth in the Federal Law of Environmental Liability (Ley Federal de Responsabilidad Ambiental or “LFRA” per its acronym in Spanish), against a real estate development that was subject to a sanctioning administrative proceeding by the Federal Attorney for Environmental Protection (Procuraduría Federal de Protección al Ambiente or “PROFEPA” for its acronym in Spanish).
On February 22, 2018, the Investigative Authority of the Federal Economic Competition Commission (the “COFECE”) informed the beginning of the investigation derived from a claim on the possible commission of absolute monopolistic practices in the distribution and commercialization of liquefied petroleum gas market in Mexico. The investigation will be conducted under file number DE-022-2017.
Yesterday the Federal Economic Competition Commission (Comisión Federal de Competencia Económica, hereinafter “Cofece”), published an amendment to the Regulations to the Federal Economic Competition Law issued by Cofece (the “Regulations”). Such amendment will be effective as of today.
